New homes to replace former Dave Wells Properties headquarters
Dave Wells Properties has submitted a planning application to convert its old Windham Road offices into two houses and a flat.
The application follows a recent move to purpose-built 18,000 square foot offices in neighbouring St Clements Road. Dave is keen to preserve the Victorian style of the old offices and the outside of the building will be restored.
He said: “I feel very sentimental towards the old Windham Road offices – we moved in there 35 years ago when it was an extra office and forecourt for our previous car sales business and it served us well as we grew the affordable housing business.”
If granted planning consent, Bournemouth’s biggest landlord plans to demolish the warehouse attached to the property to give garden space for the homes and convert the existing Victorian building into two one-bedroom houses and a two-bedroom flat.
Dave Wells has a long association with Windham Road, having lived there in his 20s.
The affordable housing specialist, which employs houses over 2,400 tenants in Dorset and Hampshire, has over 160 affordable units currently under construction.
The new, larger offices in St Clement’s Road have more payment points and interview rooms to cope with the volume of tenants and a bigger warehouse for furniture storage.
